A New Book

After reading an article I penned for The Washington Post about race in children’s literature, the editors of this anthology asked me to write about race in the popular The Baby-sitters Club book series.

My essay, “Jessi on the Margins: Black Characters Then & Now” explores race in kids lit in the 1980s and ‘90s.

The anthology released July 2021.
