My favorite part of Thanksgiving is hanging with my crazy family, followed closely by my mama’s homemade dressing and gravy. My least favorite part is watching my family spend the holiday and the entire next day binge-watching football and lackluster Lifetime movies.
So this year, I’m creating a Turkey Trot for my family, an interactive activity that every member of the family can enjoy.
You can set up the base for the trot in either your front or back yard, and use a single block on your street to keep it simple and safe. Or, you can set it up at a local park. The race can be based on what each person ate, as suggested below. But if you prefer not to correlate food intake to physical exercise, you can list the activities in a hat and have everyone pull them out randomly.
For extra fun, you can give out prizes for the fastest time and best effort. Also, don’t forget to play music in the background. It’ll make the entire event more enjoyable!
